The theme of this year’s bookshelf is “Created Equal.” The award is part of the NEH’s We the People initiative, which supports projects that strengthen the teaching, study, and understanding of American history and culture. Through this grant, the Mahomet Public Library received a set of 21 classic books, including Spanish translations of four of the titles, as well as “History in a Box” resource materials on Abraham Lincoln from the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. Programs will be offered during the year that highlight books received through this grant. Click Here for the list of books on the We the People bookshelf “Created Equal.”
